Psssst. Do you know what July is? (Other than the hottest freakin month I’ve ever experienced?!) July is Rhubarbarians’ 10th month. That’s right! It’s been 9 full months already, and 7 hours and 15 days, and nothing compares 2U. Heh. Not really 7 hours and 15 days, but wouldn’t that be hilarious? There have been a few things keeping this boat afloat, that I need to share and get out there, because every single food blogger should have it as easy peasy as possible. So here goes……. my 5 favorite food blogging resources.
Pssssst: A few of these are affiliate links, which means I may get a few pennies thrown my way if you purchase one of these. I use each and every one of these every day, and love them, and those pennies help Rhubarbarians stay afloat. Thanks guys!
1. Food Blogger Pro.
Food Blogger Pro is an online membership website devoted to helping you start and grow your food blog. I definitely still consider myself a newbie, and know for certain that I wouldn’t have the success that I’ve had with Rhubarbarians if it wasn’t for the informative vids and community forums. There are over 300 tutorial videos made for beginner to intermediate food bloggers! If you are thinking of starting a food blog, or looking to grow your food blog, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! So, big fatty duh that I’m a newbie at editing photos too. Adobe Creative Cloud gives you access to the newest versions of 14 desktop apps, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. I am able to use Photoshop as much as I want for a monthly fee, and it will download the newest version whenever one comes available. So, no spending hundreds or even thousands at once anymore. Total Win.
The Foodie Pro Theme is a child them of the Genesis Framework, and the one currently installed on Rhubarbarians. I luuuuuuuuv how clean, minimalist, and bright it is. The best thing of all though? The built in recipe catalog. You don’t have to create your own recipe pages anymore. Foodie Pro is incredibly user friendly and customize-able. I LOVE IT!
Guys. Pinterest referral traffic is battling it out for the #1 traffic referrer. (Beating out Google this month!) Know why? Aggressive pinning through Tailwind. Tailwind figures out the times of day with the highest engagement, and allows you to schedule your pins, so you can spend your time creating quality content, or, you know, eating dinner or something. Tailwind has allowed me to not be a slave to social media! It even stores all of your pins for easy findage (definitely a word!), and generates analytics reports. How cool is that?!
5. Google Calendar.
OK, finally, and possibly the most used during the daily grind, Google Calendar. We all know that food blogging is not just creating recipes and taking photos. There is a TON that goes into making a food blog successful. I schedule out all of the nitty gritty details of my day, and create reminders for myself next week or next month when need be. Each day, I wake up and take a look at my calendar. My 30+ tasks for the day may look overwhelming, but having them there and crossing them off is pretty spectacular. No “oh crap I forgot!” YUHSSSS!
There you have it. The top 5. If you are looking for more food blogging resources, you can check out my blogging resources page!
