Hello friends! My name is Trish, and welcome to Rhubarbarians! Here you will find loads of great recipes you can make with all those wonderful things in your CSA bin. I believe in sourcing most of my foods locally and organically, and although I am an omnivore, I am about 90% vegetarian. I like to keep most of my meals plant based, but occasionally let the omnivore in me shine through. Plus, cocktails galore. So glad you are here!
Rhubarbarians began in November of 2014, as a way to share delicious recipes. The blog grew out of the creativity needed when cooking through long Pacific Northwest rainy seasons with the same local fruits and vegetables. Just how may recipes CAN we come up with for potatoes???! What vegetables are in season???! If you ask yourself these questions, or are looking for creative and tasty ways to cook with your local farmer’s market produce, you have come to the right place!
OK, so…… about ME huh? Well… I’m a self taught cook living in Seattle with my husband, little Rhubarbaby (born July 2016), and rad pup, Tootsie Roll. I spent the majority of my working career in the corporate world as an Accountant. Once I hit 30, I realized that a shift needed to happen, and I needed to find a more creative way to live my life. I started cooking as a way to enjoy my free time in a creative and productive way, and fell absolutely in love with it. I became lucky enough to be able to leave the corporate world behind, and share recipes on this blog as my career! WOOT!
So here I am. A mother. A cook. A whiskey lover. A dreamer. A wine-o. A tea drinker. A dog lover. A wife. An extrovert with a dash of social anxiety. A Jeopardy watcher. A dress wearer (because I’m a lady, duh). A crass and slightly deaf old woman inside of a 35 year old body.
