Cranberry ice. Ginger ice. Apple cider ice. Yes. You got me. I’m one of those weirdos who likes festive ice. I dig it. I admit it. I am NOT however, one of those TOTAL weirdos who thinks artisanal ice is the next best thing. (Or wait….. am I? Is that kind of what this post is? Shit.) No, no. That is WAY weirder than just getting fancy with ice cubes. Right? Let’s move on………
I really really really wanted to make some fancy ice to go with the sip of cranberry orange infused rye I made last week. Originally, I was just going to go with the cranberry ones, but then I went a little nutso and decided to go with 3 flavors. Also, 2 sizes. I’ve got a whole shelf in the freezer devoted to these now! What is wrong with me……… sheesh. You know what would be amazing? Some holly leaves in the cranberry ice. Wouldn’t that be freakin gorgeous!? Wish I had thought of that earlier…… ah well…… I still have, like, 3 shelves left in my freezer right?
You don’t really need a recipe to make these. Here’s how:
FOR THE APPLE CIDER ICE CUBES:
Pour apple cider into an ice cube mold and freeze overnight.
FOR THE CRANBERRY ICE CUBES:
Fill ice cube molds with fresh cranberries. Fill with water and freeze overnight.
FOR THE GINGER ICE CUBES:
Put a pinch of freshly grated ginger in an ice cube mold and fill with water. Freeze overnight.
Happy almost Thanksgiving friends!
