3 healthy, fresh fall freezer smoothie packs recipes! Save time and money by freezing your favorite seasonal produce into ready to make and serve smoothies.
Hiya, Rhubarbarians!
We are DEEP into the fall vibes by now. Are you still feeling it? Hopefully, yes, because today you are getting 3 fall recipes in 1! I'm sharing a recipe for a cranberry, apple cinnamon, and pumpkin pie smoothie. Plus, how to easily preserve these smoothies by creating freezer smoothie packs.
So, breakfasts are becoming tough for me these days. Rhubarbaby seems to be either up at 5AM (GAH!), or will sleep until 9AM or so (yesssss!). But, we always manage to pack our mornings full of things like mom group play dates, doctor appointments, grandma baby sitting time so mom can get out and about (double yessss!!), and grocery store trips. All of these things have to be done in the morning so we can back in time to make lunch and then go down for a nap. Well.. he gets a nap. 🙂
The mornings can just be hectic, so smoothies have become a staple for breakfast. They are easy to blend together and Rhubarbaby just loves them. Seriously, he can drink the same amount of smoothie as me!
These 3 fall smoothie recipes are my go-tos this time of year and I'm sharing how to make them the easiest they can be by creating freezer smoothie packs for a breakfast in less than 5 minutes!

The freezer smoothie packs are a dream because you just toss ingredients into the blender with some yogurt and pour it into a glass. That's it.
Right now, Rhubarbaby is obsessed with pumpkin smoothies. He would eat smoothies for every meal if I let him LOL! The other flavors are faves in our house in the fall too, and they really use up ingredients that we NEED to use, so it's a win-win.
I've been wanting to get a vacuum sealer for a while. So, I'm thrilled to be working with the FoodSaver® FM3941 Vacuum sealing system! TheFoodSaver® really takes freezer meals to the next level, as you can store them for so much longer without the freezer burn. It's been a handy tool in our kitchen, as we use it for so many things other than smoothies! Soups, curries, apples we picked at an orchard, even bananas that were browning.
The FoodSaver® FM3941 Vacuum sealing system has been a game changer for my family. The FoodSaver® Bags and Rolls Value Pack make storing food a breeze, since you can create any size bag you'd like. Making and cutting bags is easy with dedicated roll storage and a built-in cutter.
The built-in, easy to use Fresh Handheld Sealer makes refrigerator preservation fast and easy in addition to keeping food fresh in the freezer with airtight vacuum seal bags and rolls. So, you can easily use this system for refrigerated meals as well as freezer meals. The FoodSaver® multi-layer, BPA-free vacuum-seal bags are flexible enough to hug food and seal effectively without gaps. They are best for long-term freezer storage, blocking out air and helping to prevent freezer burn.
I bought mine at Costco, and they are having a promotion in November if you'd like to purchase one! The FM3941 Vacuum Sealing System will be $40 OFF and the FoodSaver® Bags and Rolls Value Pack will be $10 OFF. You must have a Costco membership to get this promotion.
These smoothie packs are really quick and easy to throw together and will save you quite a bit of time and money! It only takes a minute to create a custom sized bag by sealing one end and cutting the other to the size you need. Then, add your ingredients and seal the other end. It's just as easy as using a plastic baggie, but will keep your smoothie packs fresh up to 5x longer.
One thing that I've found in the fall is that I always have extra cranberries in my fridge, always have an apple on the counter that needs to be eaten, and always have some extra pumpkin puree that didn't get used in a recipe. Cranberries, apples, and pumpkin puree are fall staples, that often times get tossed in the trash.
By making seasonal freezer smoothie packs, you can use up that save that extra produce while it's in season. Just add a few ingredients to your freezer pack and save for a busy morning. When you are ready to make a smoothie, just blend the frozen ingredients with some yogurt and breakfast is READY! In less than 5 minutes. Huzzah!
How to make fall freezer smoothie packs:
These smoothie packs are a breeze to make. I created 3 recipes for you to save those fall flavors with ingredients you will already have in your kitchen.
First, make a small bag the size that you need with your FoodSaver®. It's as simple as pulling enough bag material to the edge until it is on top of the sealing strip and closing the lid. Make your first seal by pressing the seal button. Open the lid back up and you'll see that you have created the bottom of your bag. Fill with your ingredients and place the open end of the bag into the vacuum channel and close the lid. Press vacuum/seal button. The FoodSaver® will vacuum seal your bag and automatically seal it closed. When the seal indicator light turns off, open the lid and remove the bag. That's it!
All 3 of these smoothie packs include everything you need for your smoothie, with the exception of yogurt. All of these recipes are designed to be the best when mixed with vanilla or plain yogurt, depending on how sweet you'd like them. For me personally, I like plain yogurt to keep the added sugar out of my breakfast, but for a sweeter smoothie, vanilla yogurt would be perfect for all of these.
The 3 fall smoothie recipes here are cranberry banana, apple cinnamon, and pumpkin pie. These are designed to use what you have at home in the fall and might not end up using before the expiration date. Fresh cranberries, apples, and pumpkin puree are perfect for fall flavors and you will love these smoothies!
How to make a cranberry banana yogurt smoothie freezer pack:
For the cranberry smoothie, you will need ½ cup of cranberries, 1 banana, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, and ⅛ cup of maple syrup. If you intend to use vanilla yogurt, leave out the maple syrup.
Freeze these items together in a smoothie pack and when ready to use, just blend with 1 cup of yogurt.
How to make an apple cinnamon yogurt smoothie freezer pack:
For the apple cinnamon smoothie, you will need 1 apple, peeled and cored, 1 banana, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.
Freeze these items together in a smoothie pack and when ready to use, just blend with 1 cup of yogurt.
How to make a pumpkin pie yogurt smoothie freezer pack:
For the pumpkin pie smoothie, you will need ¼ cup of pumpkin puree, ⅛ cup maple syrup, and ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. If using vanilla yogurt, you won't need the maple syrup.
Freeze these items together in a smoothie pack and when ready to use, just blend with 1 cup of yogurt.
