    Ingredients

    • 2 medium fuji or honeycrisp apples
    • 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • ¼ teaspoon ground clove (optional)
    • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger(optional)

    Instructions

    • Thinly slice the apples into ¼" slices. I used a mandoline, but a sharp knife works too.
    • Preheat oven to 200° F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
    • Spread the slices evenly on the baking sheets. Do not overlap.
    • Combine the cinnamon, clove, and ginger in a bowl and stir to combine. Sprinkle evenly over apple slices. (If just using cinnamon, just sprinkle that over the slices)
    • Bake for 1 hour. Flip apple slices over. Bake for 1 hour. Flip again. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool.
    • Store in an air tight container.

I can identify with the whole diet session! I've been battling 20 lbs. for years. This year, 70 y.o. Sounds like a lot but feels like all the other years, I decided to log my food intake. Every bite. It is an easy way to be a bit more deciplined about what you put into your mouth if you write it down (in ink). Changes from full cream in coffee to whole milk, one spoon of sugar on oatmeal instead of two...
I have gone from 160lbs to 130 in 6 months and have maintained my 130lbs in 5 months and have maintained it so far. NO! It is not a fun ride. But it has worked and no other program has. I have begun to ride my bike twice a week and I credit that with a major part of the weight loss. Hang in there!

These look delicious. I love apples in my salad, especially, dried ones.
