No sugar added, mulled concord grape cider in just 30 minutes! An amazing way to use those early fall concord grapes and make your house smell like fall. Naturally vegan and refined sugar free.
Hey friends! Happy fall! Can you believe it? Fall already?
No way.
Honestly, I'm totes ready. SOOOOOOOO READY! Here in the Pacific Northwest, we had a summer of wildfires that filled the air with smoke. It really seemed like we had more days of smoky haze than we did of nice, summery, sunshine-y days. The rain just didn't come this summer, which just made the smoke so much worse. So, yeah, it's time.
Thank you, fall. I love you. ❤️
I ended up scoring a box (and I mean like, a BIG BIG BOX) of fresh concord grapes from a neighbor. They grow like crazy around here this time of year, but are so crazy expensive at the farmers market. I was totally at a loss with what to do with so many! When in doubt, stew. Right?
Or in this case, mull. ? I mean, is there a fall fruit that isn't good cooked down with fall spices? I certainly can't think of one!
My thoughts for this recipe were like apple cider meets mulled wine. But, not alcoholic. I'm pretty sure I've just created a new tradition in our household. Last year, I tried my hand at pineapple cider and came up with this amazing rummy, tiki-inspired goodness. I might have to splurge and buy some more of these grapes at the market before the season ends. It made our entire apartment smell sooooooo fall-like and festive! And I never realized how easy it was to make grape juice. Those juicy little bombs burst just like cranberries. YUMYUMYUMYUMYUM! Wait..... cranberry cider maybe? Oh yeah!
Oh, and your kiddo will think this is such a mega treat, even though there isn't ANY added sugar in there. Just good ole natural sugar from fruit. Little Rhubarbaby couldn't get enough of it. He drank at least half my glass.
You definitely want to pick the good apple juice for this one. Unfiltered, unsweetened, organic apple juice. That golden goodness that looks a little cloudy and needs to be shaken before you drink - that's the shizzzz right there.
