Orange Juniper Rosemary pot simmer recipe! All natural simmering potpourri that will make your house smell fresh and amazing all day long.
Let's make your house smell woodsy, herby, citrusy, clean, like the fall and holiday season!
You know what I'm a total nerd for? POT SIMMERS! Love em. You just throw handy stuff into a pot and it makes the house smell great! Not fake. Not artificial. Just ingredients you already have in your kitchen, simmered together to make a warm and cozy simmering potpourri.
In the fall and winter, I like to keep one going for a few hours when my house gets all stuffy from keeping the windows closed. We have a toddler AND a dog. So, let's just say there are some smells that we could do without LOL! A pot simmer not only emits a pleasant, potpourri aroma, but it also puts moisture into the air in your house at a time when most of us really need it. SCORE.
How to make a pot simmer or simmering potpourri at home:
I feel a bit ridiculous having a recipe for this, because it's really really simple. Just add great smelling ingredients in a pot with some water and gently simmer on your stove top.
That's it. Seriously.
At the end of the day, you can put your ingredients in the fridge and start back up simmering the next day. Yay!
DIY simmering potpourri makes an amazing holiday gift:
If you're looking to give the amazing gift of a pot simmer to a loved one for the holidays, there are an endless amount of options. You will want to make sure that your ingredients are all dried so they last, and that they all will blend together well when simmered.
A mason jar with a red and green bow would be perfect for packaging your simmering potpourri gift! Or some colored cellophane with ribbon. Some options to consider for holiday gifts are the dried ingredients of this orange juniper rosemary simmer, this blend with dried orange and cinnamon, or you can find so many more options for simmering potpourri gifts here!

Oh how I hate artificial smells and love all the things you put in that pot. I'm doing this...don't care if Christmas is over.
