Here it is friends, your LAST VDAY TREAT POST! Probably the easiest of them all too. With only 5 ingredients, and about 10 minutes, you can make your loved one(s) some rich, decadent, oozy, drippy, peanut butter chocolate syrup. HUZZAH!
So...... Jared ended up getting me hiking boots for Valentine's day this year (which I got early! Woot!). Which is pretty damn exciting....... BUT....... not as exciting as the reason why! WE ARE GOING ON A WESTERN US ROAD TRIP THIS SPRING! ohmygodohmygodohmygod. Yep. Start in Washington, head down to Northern California, over to Vegas, up through Utah and Wyoming, tiny bit of Montana, through Idaho and BAM - back home. All in about 2 weeks. We've got a wedding to go to in Vegas right smack in the middle, so we get the best of both worlds with hiking camping ruggedness, and totally classy extravagance!
I'm gonna pee my pants I'm so excited.
So anyways....... the hiking boots are a killer gift. I love them.
For Vday this year we are getting out of our big house of roommates and heading to the family beach cabin. ALONE! YESSS! Hot tub and mimosas here we come! The plan is to hike on Saturday, then head back and make some homemade Thai food. The best day. 🙂
What are your plans? Anything roooomantic?
OK back to the chocolate. Fans of Hershey's syrup raise your hands! Fans of peanut butter and chocolate together raise your hands! Fans of homemade rather than store bought raise your hands! I thought so. Dude...... who DOESN'T like peanut butter and chocolate together. Craaaaaaazy folks. That's who. (I apologize if you are one of these people. Don't mean to offend, but you are missing out BIGtime.)
Peanut butter chocolate syrup
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw cacao powder*
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tablespoons creamy salted peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine cacao powder, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan and heat over medium low. Stir until cacao powder and sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes.
- Add peanut butter and vanilla and continue stirring while syrup heats, about 5 minutes.
- When all ingredients are dissolved completely, and syrup has slightly thickened, about 10 minutes total, remove from heat. Cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Nutrition
*I used Navitas Naturals Raw Organic Cacao Powder.
