You guys. I don't know why, but I've been gaga crazy for some spicy food lately. Maybe it's this crazy heatwave we're having, maybe it's because I'm becoming an old hag and my taste buds are gone, OR maybe it's because spicy food IS DA BOMB! That's it. Spicy food is da bomb. THIS spicy food, is some totes delish seasonal fruity salsa. Packed full of sweetness from cherries, tanginess (um..... my computer thinks this is not a word. YES IT IS COMPUTER!) from mango, acidity from fresh limes, and of course, some DA BOMB heat from serrano. It's spicy mango cherry salsa. And it's DA BOMB! Enough, enough.
Just thought I'd throw out there that my computer doesn't recognize the word tanginess, but has NO problem with thinking da bomb is an acceptable phrase. Grow up computer!
We recommend trying this creamy cilantro sauce next!
So, we are still in the middle of this insane freakin heat wave. Sheesh. I can't even type, my hands are too sweaty.
So, know what I ate this salsa with? SPICY FOOD! AAAAHAHAHAHA! Told you guys. I've lost it.
For reals though, I made some spicy pan fried shrimp, stuffed them into an avocado, then topped it with this delicious spicy goodness. Proooooooobably the best thing ever. Pssssshhht- DEFINITELY the best thing ever!
- 1 cup pitted and peeled mango, cut into small chunks
- 1 cup pitted bing cherries, halved
- ¼ cup red onion, minced
- 1 seeded serrano chile, minced
- The juice of 1 lime
- ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper
- Stir the mango, cherries, onion, and serrano together in a medium sized bowl. Add the lime juice and stir to coat. Stir in the cilantro.
- Season with salt and pepper
Got those spicy shrimp and mango cherry salsa avocado boats comin at ya soon!
Peace out foos.

LOVE this salsa! I've made it multiple times - with accompanying shrimp boat and without - and it is always a hit! I've shared the recipe with a handful of friends already and everyone loves it. It's beautiful and tasty and will impress your neighbors. 10/10 recommend.

You've just made this food blogger's day! I'm so glad you like this one. We make a version of this all the time with whatever fruit we have on hand. We have some peaches and I'll be making a salsa very soon. 🙂

This sounds so good! Good salsa is one thing that's missing in London, but definitely not missing on Rhubarbarians! I'll have to give this a try, especially since I've been craving spicy foods. Yum yum yum.

I am ALL about making my own salsa! So hard to find good pre-made anywhere!

Ahhhh this is so perfect! The hubbs can't eat mangos so this will be one thing in the fridge I won't have to worry about disappearing on me before I get home!! Can't wait to make it 🙂

I love spicy food but it doesn't always love me. My doctor said to stop eating it but I was like NO WAY! So now I want to eat bowlfuls of this spicy mango cherry salsa because cherries, mango, salsa SPICY yum! Great recipe, Trish!

Thanks Julie! You could easily make this without the serrano and it would still be delicious!
