Well well well Spring…… you are here. WITH A VENGEANCE! Early March sneak attack! Sneaky Spring, sneaky.
I know a lot of you are probably totally snowed in still. Curled up with blankies and binging on House of Cards (um….. we’ll get to that in a sec mmmmkay), sipping hot cocoa and eating whatever you can get your hands on that’s warm. Here in Western Washington though, we are grinning at cherry tree blossoms and taking walks with NO COAT! GAH! I do wish we could have had, you know, a Winter around these parts, but after waiting for months for Winter to show it’s face, I’m pretty happy to see Spring. Well, you may not be ready for this, but here’s a dash of Spring comin atcha with a good ole strawberry banana buttermilk smoothie. POW!

dumb smart question eh? Jerdy and I aren’t done yet. Not even close. I’m pretty damn stoked though. It’s kind of killing me not to say anything that might ruin it for some of you. Oh boy…… It’s kind of like, ALL I want to do. EVERY DAY. Watch like a zombie. Jared is leaving town on Sunday morning for a week and a half, and we had BETTER FINISH BY THEN! If we don’t, and I have to wait……… I may resemble something close to the mother from Dead Alive. Remember her?
OK, ok. Vent time over. Now that you have that awesomely disgusting image in your head, let’s chat smoothies! I love this one! Packed full of healthy goodies like chia seeds and fruits. Like a glass full of whole foods!
- 10 strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 banana peeled
- 1 cup full fat buttermilk
- 1 Tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 Tablespoons shredded coconut
- 6-10 ice cubes
- Place strawberries, banana, and buttermilk in a blender and blend until smooth. Add chia seeds and coconut and blend to combine. Add ice cubes, a few at a time, and blend until desired consistency.
Raise a glass to Spring!
