Hi, Rhubarbarians! Sharing ten of my all time favorite oat flour recipes!

If you're here, you're probably curious about oat flour and are looking for recipes to try. You have come to the right place! Oat flour is amazingly flavorful and easy to work with.

What is oat flour? Oat flour is simply oats that have been finely ground to a flour like consistency. That's it!

    Why you'll love these

Whether you're gluten free or not, oat flour is a fantastic ingredient for breads, pancakes, cookies, desserts, baked goods, etc. It adds a rich flavor as well as lots of protein and fiber. Huzzah!

All of these oat flour recipes are delicious and feel indulgent, but will keep you full and satisfied for much longer than recipes with all-purpose flour.

    How to make oat flour

There's no need to spend money on expensive store bought oat flour! Just place old-fashioned rolled oats in a food processor or high speed blender and blend until you get a fine powder or flour like consistency. (I have a Ninja food processor attachment and it works great!)

The ratio of rolled oats to oat flour is almost 1:1, so just add an extra ⅛ to ¼ cup of oats to make the flour and then measure out the amount needed for your recipe.

If you would like to purchase oat flour (totally get it), I recommend the Bob's Red Mill oat flour.

    FAQs

Can I use oat flour instead of all purpose flour?

I recommend finding a recipe specifically made with oat flour, as the ratio is not 1:1 for a flour swap. If a recipe isn't available, try 1 cup of flour = 1 ⅓ cup of oat flour and adjust the thickness with liquid as needed.

What can be made from oatmeal flour?

Favorite oat flour recipes are pancakes, breads, cookies, cakes and other baked goods.

How much oat flour does 1 cup of oats make?

One cup of ground old fashioned oats will yield just under one cup of oat flour. You'll need to add a bit more oats to yield one full cup of oat flour.

    More baked goods to try:

    • Pumpkin cranberry bread with rye flour
    • Almond flour chocolate cookies
    • Homemade socca (chickpea flour flatbread)
