Warm up with a delicious apple cider hot toddy! This hot apple toddy is a warm and cozy whiskey cocktail for those cool nights.
Oh hello apple cider hot toddy. You cozy, seasonal friend. I’ve been missin you.
You guys! It’s time for hot toddies (toddys?) again! YIPPEE!
This is my absolute fave time of year (sick of hearing that from bloggers yet?), and one of the reasons is that I get to drink warm and cozy drinks for the next 6 months. A few years ago, I got super into hot toddies after making a Korean honey lemon tea base. It was just screaming for some whiskey, and it was rad.
Last year, I tried to get all fancy with my warm cocktails. I made a few really great ones, like vegan chai whiskey with orange, but the hot toddy just still has my heart.
A few weekends ago I attended the IFBC here in Seattle. One of the seminars at the conference was a tea brewing session with Teavana. It was awesome! Definitely my favorite seminar during the conference. I’ve been a snobby tea drinker for years, and really enjoyed trying out new ways to brew and new blends. The newest addition to my wishlist is this amazing tea maker! Genius!
They sent us home with a little container of apple cider rooibos tea, and I instantly wanted to brew some and add it to a hot toddy.
So I did.
And it was GOOOOOOD.
Thanks you Teavana for the lovely time and the lovely tea!
- 1 oz bourbon or other whiskey
- ½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey
- 6 oz hot apple cider or hot apple cider tea
- Combine all of the ingredients in a toddy mug or regular mug. Stir to combine.

Mmmmm…… hot toddy. What is your favorite cold weather cocktail?
